Every Tai Chi school has its history, and the Internal Arts Institute is very proud of our beginning, studying with some of the greatest instructors of Tai Chi Chuan and Qigong that has allowed us to provide a truly unique and powerful experience to our students.

Dimitri K. Mougdis began his study of Tai Chi Chuan under Grand Master Gin Soon Chu in Boston on February 1, 1983.

In June of 2000, Dimitri established the Internal Arts Institute with the guidance of Grand Master Gin Soon Chu and Master Vincent Chu. The Internal Arts Institute is dedicated to teaching the true Classical Yang Family Tai Chi Chuan for promoting good mental and physical health as well as Self-Defense.

Grand Master Gin Soon Chu is the second disciple of the late Grand Master Gin Soon Chu, the first son and heir of the famous Great Grand Master Yang Cheng Fu. Dimitri has also had the privilege of receiving personal training from Professor Ning Fang from China, after being introduced to him by Master Vincent Chu.

Professor Ning Fang, speaks fluent English and Japanese, graduated from an American Mission School, St. John University in Shanghai, China, in 1947 with degrees in Political Science and Economics. He has been practicing and researching Qigong for more than 50 years and is the 5th generation successor to Orthodox Wudan Yang-Style Tai-Chi Chuan.

The Gin Soon Tai Chi Club was founded in 1969 with permission from Grandmaster Yeung Sau Chung to propagate the Yang Style Tai Chi Chuan in North America.
